Friday Reflection: The Gift of Self-Compassion

Since my teen years, I used to be hard on myself, always setting high standards and expectations. If I didn’t meet my unrealistic goals, I would punish myself. No matter what I accomplished, I was never satisfied or celebrated my achievements.
After my mental health crisis, I learned to have compassion for myself and celebrate every milestone. Now my inner dialogue is more like a coach than a critic. As a result, I have become more creative because I eliminated the self-imposed pressure to succeed. Whatever I do in a day is enough now.
I still have goals, but they are flexible and not as rigid as before. One thing that has helped me develop self-compassion is gratitude—being grateful for what I am able to accomplish each day.

Reflection:
How have I been speaking to myself this week?

Practice:
Rewrite one self-critical thought into a kind, supportive one.

Community:
Write in the comments how you practice self-compassion.

Friday Reflection: The Gift of Becoming

While healing myself I was able to rediscover myself. Creating a life that is meaningful to me. It based on small daily habits, journaling every day, reading, practicing meditation, reiki, exercise, not for hours but just few minutes per day.

Now, I have a life of intentional moments that nourish the mind, body and soul. I have developed my artistic side by painting, writing poetry, blogging and playing musical instruments.

My rhythm is slow, yet I live in a busy city. Inside my home time slow down and I get to be myself, a multifaceted woman, who enjoys her time as she pleases.

REFLECTION

I invite you to pause and reflect on this question, Who am I becoming through my daily choices?

PRACTICE

Review three choices you made today and what they reveal about the person you are becoming.

Leadership

As I step into my role of transformational Advisor and Heart-Centered Healer I can’t help feel lil bit insecure.

Who am I to lead others but then I remember I have tons of personal experience and knowledge to share with those that want to grow and lead from the heart.

That everything comes full circle, my learning, experience and daily reflection. They have made me the leader that I am today. I learned to heal and lead from the heart.

My greatest gift to the world are my healing nature and my leadership. I might had challenging times but those times has made me a thoughtful heart-centered leader.

One of the kind human being that is finally stepping into her role she was born to play in this world.

New Journey failure

My new journey as dancer started taking ballet for the first time at almost 38 years old. The class is me stepping out of my comfort zone since I did not know what to expect I was excited and nervous. Basic ballet is full of techniques the opposite I am used to dancing.

My goal was for the first week to attend all 3 classes ballet, hip-hop and zumba. But after ballet, I ended exhausted and took me 2 days to recover. I really don’t have the energy as in my party days to party multiple days.

But all I can do is at least show up to 2 classes next week. This week was my first week and only did the first class which was ballet.

My goal is to be physically active and in community. I was lucky enough to be provided this classes for free and all I can do is take advantage of it. I am having a slow start but it is just the beginning. I will keep you posted on how I progress during the year. Because of mental illness and medication I do not have the same energy and resistance as before but hopefully I can recover some of the energy through dance classes. Dancing is a part of me, that I miss a lot. So let’s see where this new journey will take me.

Feminine/Goddess energy

What’s the feminine energy all about? It is subtle but assertive, sensual, and playful. Invites you to relax, to be and to create. When I connect to this energy makes me feel happy, I am all smiling and creating content or coming up with new ideas. Makes me very curious and play with what if scenarios that brings me joy and contentment.

How I connect with the energy is simple, I put relaxing, smooth or romantic music like bossa nova or Frank Sinatra. Candles, eat sensual fruits or drinks and just start creating either by painting or dancing and writing.

The feminine energy invites us to slow down and savour each moment with joy and sensuality. It truly is an assertive energy because it knows what it wants from us, to just be ourselves in our most relaxed state possible.

I invite you to connect with this feminine energy after work and when you have free time and see how you go from doing to being.

Poems of my Soul Vol. 1

Here are some of the poems I wrote few years ago, enjoy them and let me know what you think.

11/10/21

The needs of my soul

To be worry free

To be understood

To explore

To go on adventures

To have fun

To be loved

To get high on love

To rest

To slow down

To make love

To Daydream

To be creative

To play and dance

To be seen and heard

11/10/21

Madness!

Oh! To be madness is…

To be free

To be Unique

To see the truth

To stand out

To be authentic

To be creative

To embrace it all

To be madness is to say Fuck You! To Society and do You!

My Neighbors Trees

I do not know your names but you gave shades during the sunny hot days of summer.

I always look forward to your changes.

I love watching you during the spring as your leaves blossom.

In fall I love watching your leaves change colors.

But the other day, I finally saw you in your glory.

It was just the 4 of you standing next to each other strong and powerful.

And what I saw was not just your essence but the essence of my soul.

For what I see in you, exists in me.

Winter Eve

Leaves are falling

Days getting shorter

Colder airs are in

Time to retrieve

Go deep within

Find warmth in the depth of my soul

Be ready for the times of despair that winter brings.
